Greenbizz II
Imagining a future for GreenBizz invites us to decipher composite situations. The unbuilt space dedicated to this extension opens onto 4 typologies of heterogeneous blocks: a school, a logistics platform, greenbizz I as well as the Tivoli housing complex. This open space is currently occupied by a community garden and a temporary playground.
The program identifies a need for productive activity spaces, the distribution of which may vary over time and which will, for the most part, have to be converted into housing. A space dedicated to a bar/restaurant will serve as a link between the GreenBizz site and the neighborhood.
This approach of adaptability and reversibility of functions is complemented by the request for a design based on reused materials for the structural and finishing work.
The architecture and the resulting open-plan spaces evoke a composite image, borrowed from the typologies of industrial logistics spaces and urban workshops that have often been converted into residential spaces, as well as the address qualities of Brussels' large cafés and brasseries.
